From early on in Kenneth Andre Grice's life, it was evident
that he was blessed with musical talents. His parents can recall his first
experience with the
piano at age 6. Kenneth began to play songs that he would hear. He
would play for many hours and sometime would have to be forced to cut his
keyboard off.
The son of a minister, Kenneth says his biggest influence on his life is his
mother. Kenneth says, "She gave her life to the Lord and raised me up in
holiness. And I
thank the Lord for that!" "I was shielded from lots of things growing up
and didn't have many friends after that, but as I look back on it, I thank God!"
At age 13, Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and began to live for
Him.
In junior high school, Kenneth joined the concert band and began to learn the
trumpet. He was asked to change to the French Horn since no
one was playing it at the time. He learned that instrument and earned
district and region honors on it as well.
Soon after, Kenneth began to play the keyboard, piano, and Hammond Organ in
church. He was asked to play at different programs and conventions in the
area as well. In High School, Kenneth began to write many songs that the
Lord gave him. In addition to the piano, organ, trumpet, and french horn,
he also plays the bass guitar.
Kenneth earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Management
Information Systems from
Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. There he discovered a love
for computer programming. Not only programming itself, but how to use
information technology in business to help run processes efficiently. He
uses this skill to design websites and advanced databases. He later created his own website and began to upload songs on
it he has written over the years. During this time, God blessed him to
start his own business, K Grice Productions. In addition to
internet services like websites and hosting, Kenneth also offers computer repair
services, home and office networking, custom computer building, and music
production.
In 2003, Kenneth began working at ABB, one of the world's leading engineering companies, as a Quality Assurance Engineer. There he standardized processes company wide by writing procedures and designing, developing, and administering various information systems that were used to not only perform various processes efficiently, but help to assure that quality products were produced the same way. Not only was he responsible for helping to make sure ABB met customer requirements, he also was responsible for compliance with the ISO 9001 quality standard and nuclear quality standards set by the federal government. He is an ISO 9001 and NQA-1 (Nuclear Industry) Lead Auditor. For ABB, he performed internal audits for own company and division, and also supplier audits around the country. In addition to compliance responsibilities, he was heavily involved in data analysis and process improvements company wide, including six sigma projects.
Recently, Kenneth accepted an offer to
work for
Progress Energy.
He will be working at the Robinson Nuclear Plant.
Recently Kenneth was selected by DBS Communications as one of the 30 Black
Leaders under 35 in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand area of South Carolina.
Kenneth gives the Lord the praise. He says, "I thank my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. Because without him nothing would be possible. I can do all things
through Christ which strengthens me. He is awesome. With his help, I am living
for him. And he is blessing me exceedingly abundantly above all I could ever ask
or think. To God be the Glory!"
